About Us
The world's biggest urban axe throwing club. We brought a traditional Canadian backyard pastime to cities across North America — and we're just getting started.
Our Story
Bad Axe Throwing was founded by CEO Mario Zelaya in the fall of 2014. Based in southern Ontario, the first doors opened in Burlington, Ontario.
In just a few years, we've expanded across Canada and the United States. Hundreds of thousands of people have shared our passion for throwing axes — from walk-ins and private parties to leagues and team building events.
We pride ourselves on outstanding customer service and expert coaching. Every guest leaves feeling like they've done something they'll actually remember.

Giving Back
Bad Axe Throwing is proud to be part of the communities where we operate. We've participated in numerous fundraising events, supported local charities, and provided donations to organizations like United Way, Ottawa Food Bank, Ottawa Snowsuit Fund, and Toy Mountain.
In September 2019, Bad Axe Mississauga hosted “A Cut Above” — the first axe throwing tournament in support of SickKids.
